The European Leveraged Finance Association (ELFA) is a newly formed, investor-only industry association serving as a platform for its bond and loan investor members to engage with other market participants, regulators, press and the public.  ELFA works to support the growth of the European leveraged finance market through education, advocacy, and engagement, in support of ESG principles.

ELFA is seeking a unique, passionate individual to join us as Associate Director. This is a flexible, part-time role that has potential to grow into a full-time position over the coming year.

Broadly, the Associate Director will assist the ELFA’s Board, Executive Committee and Executive Advisor in the day-to-day running of the group. The role might be ideal for someone who has previously worked within the financial services market and is transitioning back into work following time away.

The role will include a variety of tasks, including: 

  • Engaging with ELFA’s membership (which includes AXA, Amundi, Barings, Muzinich, and Oak Hill, among others)

  • Serving as a public ambassador for ELFA to the market by liaising with our partners, other trade bodies, third party service providers, the press, and other market participants

  • Assisting the Executive Advisor in the day-to-day running of ELFA (including organising emails, meetings, and travel) 

  • Organising ELFA events, including liaising with ELFA sponsors and partners, panel speakers, and attendees 

  • Managing ELFA’s social media accounts and website

  • Managing and collating member surveys and polls

  • Taking minutes at Board meetings and preparing and delivering meeting materials

  • Liaising with members and ELFA’s accountants on invoices and expenses 

The ideal candidate would possess the following skills:

  • Previous experience in the leveraged finance market and/or working with institutional investors a plus, including as an investor, or from origination, syndicate, sales in a bank, or as an advisor

  • Creativity, passion, and a desire to become part of a growing team in a dynamic, evolving organisation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills 

  • Keen attention to detail 

  • Proactive problem solving
