Legal and Regulatory

Legal & Regulatory

Financial services regulation is important as it ensures the integrity and stability of the financial services system. It also ensures that financial markets remain competitive and facilitates economic growth. The soundness of financial markets is vital to the economy.

The financial services industry is also constantly evolving and innovating and financial services regulators often have to balance a number of considerations when formulating financial services policies and regulations.

ELFA’s Engagement Committee and ELFA’s Director of Engagement & Regulatory Affairs work collaboratively with UK, EU and international regulators and policymakers with the aim to:

• Provide insights into the leveraged finance market. ELFA supports the leveraged finance market by publishing a number of useful and market leading materials , including good practice guides and Insights reports to advance ELFA’s vision for a transparent, efficient and thriving leveraged finance market.

• Respond to regulators’ and government driven consultations, calls for evidence and other regulatory requests to ensure that members’ views are articulated while also looking to ensure that the outcome of proposals supports a vibrant and efficient leveraged finance market, which benefits the growth and development of the economy.
