The European Leveraged Finance Association (ELFA), a professional trade association for bond and loan investors in the European leveraged finance market, today published the third instalment of its ELFA Insights Series, The Rise of ESG Investing and Its Implications for Leveraged Finance Markets, to support the development of ESG resources for leveraged finance companies and investors.
Further to that goal, we have also developed a survey for investors to complete to share their views on ESG disclosure, risk, and analysis. We will publish the anonymous results of the survey in a second part to this report. We also intend to use the information we collect to create resources for the market to use as a basis for more efficient ESG disclosure and analysis. Our aim is to increase awareness of the importance of ESG analyses and create tools to support borrowers in their disclosures of these increasingly important metrics to the market.
The ELFA Insights Series is designed to provide a platform for investor members of ELFA to express their views about issues relating to disclosure, transparency, and market practices. The initiative reflects ELFA’s remit to facilitate engagement by its members with the broader market and the general public.
“Our development of ESG resources falls within our mission to promote better disclosure and greater transparency in reporting so that investors can readily access material information necessary to their investment analysis. It is our objective to serve the buyside and work toward a healthy, growing debt capital market for the benefit of all.”
